Alex Alridge was a Southern West Virginia native who was a victim of child abuse and neglect. He was placed with a caring adoptive family. However, haunted by memories of his abuse, he turned towards drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately in 2010, the same year he pledged to turn his life around and help others who were suffering like him, he relapsed and died of a drug overdoes at the age of 21.
Alex loved helping children through volunteer work and helping children was one of his deepest passions. Therefore, ChildLaw Services holds a 5K run/walk in his honor every year to remember his passion for helping children in the community. We hold this run to ensure his dream of helping at-risk kids lives on.
